In a move calculated to advance expert HVAC service and increase industry qualifications, MVP Air Conditioning, HVAC Contractors in Tucson, Arizona, obtained certification from the North American Technician Excellence organization (NATE) on January 1, 2016. NATE is a nationally known group, founded in 1997, that uses standardized criteria to assess the knowledge and skills of HVAC professionals.
MVP Air Conditioning obtained certification for:
- NATE Air Conditioning Service
- NATE Air Conditioning Installation
- NATE Heat Pump Service
- NATE Heat Pump Installation
NATE certification is awarded to technicians on an individual basis. Successfully completing the requirements for certification proves that the technician possesses expert technical and practical knowledge in the field of heating and air conditioning. NATE certification lasts two years before renewal is needed.
NATE offers multiple levels of certification involvement for HVAC contracting businesses as well. The basic level of participation requires one-quarter of the company’s technicians to earn certification. Companies with higher percentages of certified personnel can receive higher levels of recognition.
To achieve NATE certification for the first time, a technician must take tests that encompass both the theoretical and the practical everyday knowledge that a successful HVAC professional needs. Exams are created by real industry experts, ensuring that they accurately reflect real-world problems and include an accurate cross-section of an experienced technician’s knowledge.
Some of the topics covered on the exams include electrical knowledge, safety practices, science knowledge, and how to perform essential tasks such as taking humidity readings. These exams can be so rigorous that even experienced technicians may study before the exam in order to ensure best results.
As a non-profit organization, NATE evaluates neutrally and can reliably distinguish which technicians are deserving of recognition. For nineteen years it has worked to regulate and uphold excellence in the HVAC industry, certifying over 32,000 technicians and continuing to update testing materials and procedures as technology continues to develop. NATE recognition ensures that the technicians who work at MVP are some of the best available anywhere.
In addition to NATE certification, MVP has also been awarded the Angie’s List Super Service Award for 2015 for outstanding customer service. This reflects MVP’s long-standing philosophy of treating the customer as the most valuable player in each project.
MVP Air Conditioning handles Trane AC installs and repairs in Tucson, Rheem/Ruud, and other heating and cooling manufactures. MVP has served the Tucson area for over ten years since its founding by owners Clay Maher and Jeff Vogler.
